Thoughts On Likely Upcoming Changes in The Org.
I noticed not once throughout GB Sanderson's 20 minute March #2 Update of the 8 or 9 changes that there was any mention whats-so-ever of the expression 'New Light ' (Proverbs 4:18) which for decades has accompanied any new changes and refinements in WT teachings, beliefs and doctrine. In the past the GB have always mistakenly referenced Proverbs 4:18 to add weight to any changes/refinements in order to justify and bolster their right in doing so.
At time-stamp 4:00 GB Sanderson uses the expression "The Governing Body has prayerfully considered" and the expression "...that's led to a clearer understanding..." then proceeds with the 8 or 9 changes without alluding to Proverbs 4:18 'New Light' but rather uses the expression "...that's led to a clearer understanding" or words to that effect throughout the 20 minute video.
Is WT finally going to stop after 50 to 60 years the misuse & misrepresentation of Proverbs 4:18...me thinks so? Will WT soon follow-up with a Video Update or Broadcast explaining their nolonger referencing Proverbs 4:18 in connection with changes or refinements of Bible Scriptures...who knows?

Thoughts on Likely Upcoming Changes in the Org.
by Phizzy ini am thinking that the "ten year plan" that some have spoken of is the most likely scenario.
the org.
has to both attract new members and retain as many existing ones as possible.. so i think they will let the recent changes "bed in" for a while, maybe a year ?

The Memorial and my thoughts.
by Truth and Justice inno matter what opinions you may have, the memorial is very important to us.
many are opposed to the way the organization performs the memorial because of restrictive rules as to who should partake.
as jesus said in scripture, "keep doing this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.

People...will be excited to partake, will feel closer to God and thank the organisation for it.
Of the 8 million JWs, 4 million will be excited & partake...the remainder 4 million will get fed-up with the changes & walk away from the cult.
Allowing rank & file to partake of the emblems would be a very costly gamble!

Will recent dress-code changes affect the WTS negatively?
by Wonderment inin a span of a few months time, we have had many unexpected changes announced by the jw organization.
some here have expressed the belief that a great number of witnesses will leave the religion.
in fact, there is a great probability the opposite will be true.. yeah, ancient hardliners will have a hard time assimilating these changes, but the younger generation will likely welcome these changes.

Obviously the silly October 2023 AGM announcement of no longer requiring the JW rank & file to report monthly hourly field service hours wasn't enough; the December 2023 foolish announcement of JW men being allowed to grow facial hair (beards) wasn't enough; and now the March 2024 nutty 8 changes including JW women permitted to wear pants/slacks wherever the hell they choose...what the hell!
Who is it that has the WTBTS & the Governing Body under subjugation?

WingCommander: "...1 guy from a couple, 1 woman from the other couple, decide they'd like to be married to each other instead of their spouses.
They decide to have an affair, then go to the Elders and confess, knowing they'll be DF'd. They do just this..."
WingCommander: This scenario played out in my congregation...exactly as you spell out in your post.
The adulterous schemer brother (we'll call him Jim) was a member of the good Ole Boys Club in my servant body. The adulterous schemer sister (we'll call her Sally) was from another local congregation & married to a well liked prominent elder (we'll call him Frank) in his congregation. Jim & Sally had the hots for each other. Jim was married to a homely type gal in my congregation (we'll call her Mary).
Jim confesses to our elders & Sally confesses to her elders of their hanky-panky. Jim gets off with public reproof because he found a loop hole in the system & his being a member of the good Ole Boys Club certainly helped his cause. Sally also got off with public reproof because of her ex's prominent position in his congregation & because there were children involved on both sides.
Long story short Jim & Sally marry. Less than a year later both Jim & Sally get their privileges back. Jim works his way up the latter & soon becomes elder. Today Jim is COBE in the same congregation & Sally is a Regular Pioneer. Oddly enough Jim gives both wedding & memorial talks!🤣
The aftermath: I've seen Mary over the years at various JW venues...she remains lonely, single & homely...Frank moved on with his life & moved out of the area perhaps faded. Of all the children involved, one daughter might still be a JW, one son died by suicide. The other children just drifted away somewhere.
What's the moral of the story...I dunno...maybe it pays to be prominent & a member of the JW good Ole Boys Club...maybe!
PS: Boy, does this bring back memories of other scandalous behavior among the Jehovah’s Witnesses over the years!🤣 -

Where was it raised?
It was raised by a few of the df'd ones in the congregation. And so the elders decided amongst themselves that those who were df'd could associate with one another. WT could have addressed the issue sometime later and formally in writing (maybe the Shepherd The Flock Book) told the elders otherwise.

Meant to say:
"Years from now JWs will ask: Which generation of JWs took their Ministry more seriously...The Z & X Generation or the Baby Boomer Generation? You tell me!"

"...All sitting together at the back of the KH? There is a very real danger that they could start hanging out together and be each other's support group."
Actually, the question was raised if df'd ones could hang out together. They were told yes they could. That sort of made the harsh discipline of being df'd easier to take. To this day many former df'd ones are still close friends.

"...the new directive to the Elders is to meet with you more than once with the aim of making you 'repent'."
This is not a new directive! Back in the day, say the 80s & 90s the elders would have numerous meetings with those who were in trouble. The thinking was to reach & readjust such ones. Then the hammer came down from HQs telling elders that we had better things to do than to continually meet with wayward ones. We were told to be men & drop the ax so to speak & disfellowship. So yah...we started to disfellowship right & left. In one congregation I was in we had as many as 14 disfellowshipped ones & numerous others on restrictions. So now, as before, it seems the elders are being told to spend more time with errant ones with a view to readjusting them. Go figure!
